Silencing Victims is Incompetent Activism

Activists telling any survivor to be silent about their traumas are taking the side of perpetrators.

The gender identity of either the victim or perpetrator is not an excuse. Too many activists lack empathy for survivors who don’t fit neatly into preconceived boxes. Instead of practicing trauma-informed advocacy, many engage in a form of activism based on exclusion, bigotry, and debunked stereotypes.
