lawsuit challenging the state's decision to place a proposition involving racial privacy on the same ballot as the Gov. Davis recall was filed Monday in U.S. District Court in Fresno.
Attorneys for the Mexican American Legal Defense and Educational Fund said the state action violates provisions of the federal Voting Rights Act.
