Supreme Court Petition Threatens to Bump CRENO Off Recall Ballot

An initiative that could ban the state's collection to racial data may lose its spot on the October recall ballot if an Oakland lawyer's petition is accepted by the California Supreme Court.

Jon Eisenberg filed the petition Monday asking the state Supreme Court to mandate that California Secretary of State Kevin Shelley put CRENO-Classification by Race, Ethnicity and National Origin-on the March 2004 general election ballot.
