The Thing About Body Counts

I’ve always hated the whole “body count” thing. There are many reasons why a person has had many partners. All of them are that person’s business. My “count” is largely due to an unhealthy trauma response following being raped a female acquaintance.

I didn’t seek out multiple partners. I just didn’t say no. I was 19 at the time. Most of the women were married and 10 – 20 years older. It wasn’t sex. It was a trauma response. Shaming anyone for how they coped is just vile.
