#SAAPM – An early part of healing is having no idea how to start. After I was raped, I engaged in some dangerous and risky behaviors:
Reckless promiscuity with significantly older women (10 – 20+ years older).
Most had children and many were married.
I seldom used protection and didn’t know their STI status either.
I didn’t seek it out, I just never said “no.”
Then, I thought that was how to reassert control over my sexuality. Later, I forgave myself for not knowing how to heal. Healing looks different for each survivor.
