Among the most triggering and unforgivable aspects of telling your story publicly are, of course, victim-shaming trolls. I expected that and have had more than my share over the years. It is a fact of life in public.
I did not expect to see my rape co-opted for marketing to female rapists by a criminal defense attorney. The woman pictured on the left is attorney Shannon Smith. She represented Larry Nassar and re-victimized his survivors with her unforgivable comments. She also uses my rape to recruit business from women who rape. While she is not breaking any laws in the process, she is telling us all about who she is as a human being. Believe what you see.
