Born December 3, 1933 in Marietta to Toler and Ethel (White) Lutz, she married James Landrith on February 24, 1951 in Pekin. He passed away on June 9, 2017 in Peoria. She also was preceded in death by her parents; her stillborn son, Richard Allen Landrith; her daughter, Karol Callahan; one grandson, Andrew Callahan; two brothers, Norman Gene Lutz and Donald Ray “Bud” Lutz; and three sisters, Vera May Shults, Margie Hayes, and Ivy Watson.
Surviving are two sons, James Arthur (Sunny) Landrith of Vitoria, Brazil and William Joseph (Vickie) Landrith of Pekin; nine grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; one sister, Eleanor Williammee of Pekin; and two brothers, Charles Lutz of Vermont and Dale Albert Lutz of Vermont.
Hazel was an active member of Midway Mennonite Church. She belonged to their Ladies Auxiliary and the WMSA Sewing Club, making quilts for the poor. She loved to play cards and also liked fishing and deer hunting.
Hazel had worked as a district manager for Stanley Home Products. She later worked as a journeymen book binder at Logan Printing in Peoria.
Her memorial service will be at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, December 27, 2017 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Pastor John Plunkett will officiate. There will be no visitation. Burial of cremated remains will be in Spring Lake Cemetery in rural Manito.
