Pekin IL- Bennie Russell Landrith, 70, of 2220 State St., Pekin, passed away at 2:02 p.m. Monday, January 24, 2011, at Timbercreek Rehab & Health Care in Pekin. Born August 24, 1940, in Peoria County to Jacob B. and Goldie E. Nelson Landrith, he married Carolyn Hart. He later married Phyllis Davis. Surviving are four sons, Russell (Vickie) Blake of Oklahoma City, Okla., Bill (Deanna) Landrith, Rich (Kelly) Landrith and Casey Landrith, all of Pekin; and seven grandchildren, Kyla Landrith, Miryah Landrith, Justin Landrith, William Landrith, Erika Blake, Austin Blake and Brittaney Blake. He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Jeff Blake; one brother; and three sisters. Bennie worked as a brakeman for Chicago & Northwestern Railroad from 1958 to 1963. He also worked as a cab driver for many years. Bennie loved his family and enjoyed fishing. He was of the Pentecostal faith. His funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, January 28, at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. The Rev. Floyd H. Keyes Sr. will officiate. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery in Pekin. Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral.
