Further demonstrating the fact that the Bushies, neo-conservative tough guys and their neo-libertarian buddies are destroying the military, the United States Marine Corps is now planning to call up 2500 members of the Individual Ready Reserve. For those who don't know, the Individual Ready Reserve is made of Marines who had previously served their contracted active duty or active reserve time and are now "on standby" for a period of time before their enlistment contracts completely expire (not to be confused with a discharge). For instance, my first enlistment was for eight years. I spent the first six on active duty, honorably discharged from active duty and then spent the last two years of my contract in the Individual Ready Reserve.
Folks, when the services start to call up the IRRs, this is not good. It either means that recruiting fresh meat is not going well or that resources are stretched thin and certain MOS's are lacking in qualified members. Or a fun combination of both. The individual ready reserve exists for use in times of national emergency or for the callup of small numbers of individuals to deal with MOS shortages, not as a source of more bodies to devote to a lost cause. Hostile takeovers of foreign lands by warmongering Americans who believe they have a divine mandate does not pass the "national emergency" test.
In a press release issued today, Representative Ike Skelton (D-MO), Ranking Member of the House Armed Services Committee, had this to say on the USMC callup of IRRs:
"The Marine Corps' announcement that it will soon involuntarily activate up to 2,500 Marines from the Individual Ready Reserve is yet another reminder that the conflict in Iraq has taken resources and focus away from the broader global war on terrorism.
"The conflict in Iraq is separate and distinct from the war on terrorism, which has its genesis in Afghanistan. According to recent poll numbers, 52 percent of Americans think Iraq has been a distraction from the broader war on terrorism.
"We must be open and honest with the American people and acknowledge that this involuntary call up serves as a warning that valuable resources are being misspent on the conflict in Iraq rather than being sent to the front lines in the war on terrorism."
This is what happens when "tough conservatives" (read: zero integrity chickenhawk rat bastards) start "cakewalk" wars over weapons that aren't there and then lie about the progress of said wars. Over and over and over again.

Therefore, because of this, Archons uniformly show the signs of this psychiatric conflict. They are neurotic. Their faces may be cold and reptilian. Or on the other extreme they are growling, angry animals. They must control everyone around them, and their word must be obeyed without question. They think this makes them powerful, but in reality this betrays the existence a sad, ephemeral, brittle, and anaemic spirit.
In weakness they are to be pitied. In strength they are to be beaten without mercy.
This condition is a chronic one, but Christ has already won the battle.
