Tex has an interesting posting with regard to Republican campaign staffers slyly whipping up homophobic sentiments while attempting to impersonate Kerry/Edwards supporters.
Folks, there is absolutely nothing moral about this. But then, these are the same despicable bunch of assholes who attempted to use John McCain's adopted daughter as bait for pandering to racist sentiments in the state of South Carolina. As the father of two "biracial" children and husband of a beautiful "black" woman, the current iteration of the Republican Party lost me forever based on that alone. I don't make excuses for "racists" or their apologists based on shared ideology. I've equally condemned conservative and liberal racists for outright hatred or simple pandering to such. Apparently there are millions of "Christians" out there who feel differently – at least according to the "defense of marriage" folks all over pundit TV and the blogosphere.
I don't know what I expected from these people. Real morality?
Ain't gonna happen from this crowd. They may go to church, but they aren't real Christians. And you know there is a difference. Pandering to hatred and racism is anything but Christian. Except in Red State America 2004 – home of the new "morality."
I’m glad to read that you’re turned off by Republicans’ supposed “moral superiority” and its theocratic tendencies. It’s such views that turns a lot of people off, myself included.
