Dear Senators Warner and Allen:

I am writing to kindly request your support of Senate Bill 283, the ‘Public Good IRA Rollover Act.’ This bill truly is in the public good.

Trillions of dollars rest in the IRA assets of baby boomers. The IRA Rollover Act would reduce the hefty tax burden on these citizens who choose to roll all or portions of their IRAs over to charity, either as outright gifts, or life-income gifts.

Please help channel some of this money into the highly underfunded charities, many of which have struggled since September 11. In addition to encoraging a new wave of donations to charities, federal, state, and local governments would have a much lesser burden in the demand for government funds.

Please join the bi-partisan chorus of supporters for Senate Bill 283.

Sincerely,

James Landrith
