Cal Ulmann on Iraq and world dicatorships:
One of the reasons some opposed going to war in Iraq was because we could not possibly take down all the world's dictatoships. Mark Palmer thinks America could rid the world of its dictatorships by 2025.
Of course, our previous attempts at "democracy" in Iraq (starting in 1958) are how Saddam was brought to power in the first place. Me thinks that we are probably creating mini-Saddams in Afghanistan and Iraq all over again. And should Bush win re-election, we'll likely be doing the same thing in Syria and Iran in 2005. Saddam Hussein is the posterboy for failed interventionism.
