CBC News on Iceman stuck close to home: study:

A 5,200-year-old iceman likely didn’t collect many stamps on his prehistoric passport.

The iceman, known as Oetzi, was found frozen in a glacier near the Italian-Austrian border in 1991.

The well-preserved man was probably born in a valley near today’s northern Italy, and didn’t wander far from home, an international team of researchers says.

CBC News on Alberta fossil hunter joins South Pole dino hunt:

The South Pole may not seem like a place to find dinosaur fossils, but a Canadian paleontologist is joining an expedition to Antarctica to find clues to the extinct beasts.

Alberta paleontologist Philip Currie and a team of scientists are on their way to a dinosaur dig 600 kilometres from the South Pole.

U.S. paleontologist Bill Hammer from the Fryxell Geology Museum in Illinois uncovered the first Antarctic dinosaur remains. He invited Currie to join the six-member team.

Fascinating stuff.
