Bush Assumes Imaginary Powers

Bill Sammon of The Washington Times on Bush vows no 'compromise' on gay 'marriage'

President Bush yesterday said he would not "compromise" on the issue of homosexual "marriage" and said administration lawyers are exploring ways to restrict marriage to heterosexuals.

"Marriage is between a man and a woman, and I think we ought to codify that one way or the other," Mr. Bush said in a wide-ranging press conference in the Rose Garden. "We've got lawyers looking at the best way to do that."

Yeah, 'cus his oath of office granted him such powers. Where, I don't know. I can't find that power. What a summamabitch (Sorry Bernie). Of course, this wouldn't be an example of Bush reaching out to the homophobic wing of the Republican Party in an attempt to push a few more $ into the campaign coffers after his recent embarrassments regarding the State of the Union. Not. At. All.

I thought that Republicans were all about getting government off our backs. Yet it seems they still feel that its okay for government to dictate what constitutes a marriage. Where do they derive that particular power? And how exactly does that qualify as getting government off our backs? Bush is a statist. Statists are enemies of civil liberties and addicted to power. Hence, Bush, as a government expanding statist, is an enemy of civil liberties, which puts him in direct violation with his oath of office. The man has got to go. At this point, there a few who could do worse on individual rights.

  1. First, the GOP outspends the Democrats by creating a huge gaping hole in the treasury, so money can fall out easily. Then, they try to tell us how to live our lives, after they micromanage them and peer into them with “security” measures.

Are we safer? I’d say no…

In other news, how are you? 🙂
