Hometown Boy

A post from Natalie Davis brought back some old memories today:

I am spending some time listening to the newest release from one of my longtime favorite artists, Dan Fogelberg. Some time back, I published a review for the CD Full Circle on Blogcritics.org, and today, I'll share it with you. Who knows? It may inspire you to give the disc a listen.

I always dug Dan Fogelberg. Growing up in Central Illinois near Peoria, it was kind of a requirement. Same with Richard Pryor and REO Speedwagon (former guitarist Gary Richrath is from East Peoria). Then, of course, there was Sam Kinison who had lived in East Peoria for a few years as well. To further cement the deal, Fogelberg's father taught music at my father's high school in Pekin, IL. So I guess you could say that my father knew the Leader Of The Band.

Anyway, I always liked Fogelberg's music. My personal favorites being The Power of Gold and Heart Hotels. Thanks for the post Natalie, it led me to dig out my old cassettes to spice up my commute for the next week.

Now I need to get them on CD.
