Susan Saulny with Abby Goodnough of The New York Times on Suit Says School Ordered Girls Tested for Diseases After Party:
The "hooky party," which attracted about a dozen students who cut classes at their intermediate school in Washington Heights on a Friday in mid-April, might have gone unnoticed, except for one thing: word of midday debauchery somehow got back to the school.
Officials at the school, Intermediate School 164, responded swiftly. But instead of giving detentions, demerits or some other common punishment for skipping out, they took a rather unusual step. They ordered the girls who were reported to be at the party to undergo medical tests for pregnancy and sexually transmitted diseases, the students said. Officials also demanded to see doctors' notes about the results, the students added.
Assuming the facts are in order for the plaintiffs, some folks ought to get pinkslipped on top of whatever else the court awards. Of course, uber-sex nannies, like the raging statist homophobes at the Family Research Council are probably cheering the administrators on. We must, after all, keep government completely involved in the sex lives of it's subjects citizens at all times.
