I'd like to welcome a newbie to the blogosphere – Phil Shapiro. Phil may or may not remember me, but I remember him. Through his work at Push Literacy Action Now (PLAN), where I taught for 3 years and later served on the Board of Directors, he was instrumental in maintaining the computer lab and teaching computer literacy to many adult learners. I'd be at a loss to guess how many Northern Virginia, Maryland and DC residents got their start on the road to computer use as a result of Shapiro's efforts. He is also teaching beginning blogging in an upcoming class at the MLK Library in the district.
