Defective Gear

More on defective gasmasks and protective gear from the October 9, 2002 in NewsMax.com:

"Our protective gear – gas masks and chemical suits – were defective during Gulf War round one, and it is the same this time around,” Denise Nichols, vice chairman of the National Vietnam and Gulf War Veterans Coalition, tells NewsMax.com.

Nichols adds: "The GAO [Government Accounting Office] did a study on ours [chemical suits], and just last week testified to the Government Reform Committee. It’s the same story again!

"Pray for our troops because that is more protective that their force protective gear.”

Vets have been complaining about this gear for years, yet the Bush/Quayle Administration ignored us. The Clinton/Gore Administration ignored us, and now the Bush/Cheney Administration is ignoring us. I have yet to see one hawk fight with us to fix this decade long problem with protective gear and useless gasmasks. They want, war, war, war and don't give a shit about the men and women who have deal with ugly details. You know, things like breathing air free of toxins. Small stuff.
