Poets pose political problem

From Wendy McElroy:

Poets pose political problem — possibly pacifist!! Translation: poets *forced* POTUS-spouse Laura, to scrap a planned poetry reading at the White House for fear it would become an antiwar event. It seems too many of the most respected poets in America were writing protest poems for the symposium. What rhymes with Iraq?

I'd write a poem in response, but my brain is aching from breaking my promise to myself about never again posting in any DelphiForums forum but my own (and only that on a very limited basis.)

Unfortunately, I'm the type of person who won't back down after entering a discussion, even when my fellow discussants are incapable of much more than random grunting and fecal throwing. Obviously, this type of unproductive behavior consumes a lot of time. This headache is my penance for being stupid and entering the fray with the Dittoheads again. I might as well have been spending my time talking to trees in Rock Creek Park. The intellectual stimulus is about the same.
