Could a new Multiracial category mean the end to racial hatred, bigotry and separation? My answer is yes, indeed it could. I refuse to believe that I am just wishful-thinking, because I see it happening every day.
You are correct and it is happening already. The recent backlash by those who oppose multiracial self-identification or transcendence of “race” is very telling. The “back to black” census campaigns and recent pronouncements against “interracial” dating by folks like Jill Scott and Ebony Magazine’s continued insistence in various articles that Tiger is “confused” about his “race” are examples.
Whenever “one-droppers” and guilt-tripping “raceologists” lash out they are showing their fear and desparation. They’ve lost the war for “racial” purity/conformity and don’t even know it yet. They’ll figure it out though, when they’ve become irrelevant.
