Sorry, But Ghislaine Maxwell Is Still A Rapist

So, this is going to annoy some of you. Some of you will make excuses. What’s new? Some will be offended. Do me a favor, look in the mirror and think about it first if that’s your initial reaction.

This week, Ghislaine Maxwell had the chance to do something real to show she isn’t a complete piece of trash. She utterly failed.

Sadly, whenever the topic of Maxwell is discussed too many white feminists and male feminist allies rush in to perform the whole “wHy iS tHe WoMaN iN jAiL bUt NoT tHe MeN?!” handwringing skit with regard to Ghislaine Maxwell facing actual consequences for HER OWN ACTIONS.

Well, clowns. You just saw again why she is jail. She was given the opportunity to tell Congress what she knows. She has names. She refuses to name them unless she gets away with the rapes she helped commit. She isn’t a victim of a miscarriage of justice. She’s a rapist. She wasn’t a bit player or coerced by Epstein or some kind of misunderstood victim. Stop caping for her. It’s creepy and vile and you’re not a safe person when you engage in whataboutisms for a rapist.

As many of you already know, I was raped by a woman in 1990. I’ve told my story several times over. I’ve heard all kinds of excuses for her by alleged allies…based solely on her gender. You see this same ridiculous pandering when a white woman is in the news for sexually assaulting a male student. Interestingly enough, the same concern trolls are completely silent when a woman of color is (rarely) caught for the same offense. The kneejerk need to downplay the actions of a white woman accused of sexual assault is almost pathological within the sexual violence activist community at this point.

Unfortunately, I’ve lived it and I’ve seen it in alleged allies that I worked with in professional victim services positions in the past. This vile behavior is too often perpetuated by activists and advocates alike whenever the topic of a female perpetrator pops up – but only if the woman is white.

I wonder if there is a connection? Hmm.
