Emotions =/= Instability

It is always interesting and frustrating that so many professionals and incompetent activists rush in with “sorry you’re triggered” as a kneejerk response to even slight disagreement or justifiable anger when working with vocal survivors in the profession.

Often, that phrase is used to make it seem that your anger is invalid and that you are irrational if you don’t agree with them. As a credentialed victim services professional, experienced activist, and subject matter expert, some of my peers are absolutely the worst with this condescending mess. Ya’ll know exactly who you are, too.
