The Multiracial Activist
From the Editor:
As the founder of The Multiracial Activist, one of my major, early campaigns was a fight I picked with an anti-miscegenationist private college (Bob Jones University) in 1998. I won in 2000. They suck. Die mad about it.
Anyway.
On this Loving Day, I want to shout out one of my personal role models, who did this work long before I knew it was something worth pursuing. I never got to know her and really wish I had interviewed her for the magazine before her death. She was brave, smart, a fighter, and just wanted to live in peace with her husband. She wasn’t asking for much, really, but she had to take on the Commonwealth of Virginia and the abhorrent Racial Integrity Act to do it.
Her name was Mildred and she was fucking bad-ass.
