The big government statists at the Heritage Foundation are holding another one of their How Can We Expand the Police State and Power of Central Government at the Same Time events:
The 9/11 Commission made the case that state driver's licenses need to become a more secure credential. Congress acted – twice, passing laws to establish national standards to secure ID cards. Yet even with the general support backing the REAL ID program, numerous efforts have been made this past year to stop implementation across the country. Join us as a panel of experts discusses the new way forward for implementing REAL ID in 2008.
Unfortunately, I can't make it. You know there's nothing I'd rather do than spend an hour or so snarling at a bunch of Big Government Conservative assgoblins.
Anyone concerned about the escalating encroachment of government into your personal lives and expansion of police state powers is urged to attend on Wednesday, January 16, 2008 from 11:00 am -12:00 pm at The Heritage Foundation's Allison Auditorium. Directions and event guidelines are available here: http://www.heritage.org/Press/Events/terms.cfm. Perhaps you'll even get an opportunity to ask the type of hard questions that you won't hear from the corporate "reporters" on CNN, MSNBC or FOX News. Let me know if you go.
