I'd like to know – where does a self-righteous conservative get off acting like a spoiled brat who feels private corporations owe them something for nothing? The whole "Starbucks is evil cuz they don't give me no free coffee" lie (see here for debunking) has brought such "conservatives" out in droves in recent years.
This libertarian finds the sense of socialist self-entitlement expressed by this so-called conservative disturbing: http://csc5502dsays.typepad.com/my_weblog/2006/07/do_not_buy_star.html
Folks, wearing a uniform does not entitle you to freebies from Starbucks or anyone else. Wearing a uniform did not entitle me to freebies. When did we go from serving in the military to being served in the military?
Maybe I've now graduated into the ranks of the "Old Corps" but I recall that we did our job because we said we would when we took the oath. And we didn't expect anything other than what was promised in our contracts. We certainly didn't run around with our hands out screaming "gimme."
In honor of flaming conservative socialists worldwide, I'll be heading to Starbucks after work. A hot cup of Earl Grey would top off the afternoon nicely.
Semper Fi – and keep the water hot.
