And?

While the big government conservative wing of the blogosphere is doing cartwheels over their idol's re-election, I have a few observations.

Let's get this straight: The Demopublican big government liberal lost to the Republicrat big government conservative.

And this is some big victory? Really?

One guy spends my money like it comes from a magic money field in Texas. The other guy, if he'd been elected, would have gladly done more of the same. No real difference there folks. Lack of self-control is lack of self-control.

Was there a real conservative candidate in this election? I didn't see one on my ballot. I did, however, see a Libertarian. Wanna guess who I voted for? I'll give you a hint, it wasn't the Anti-Federalist Party Right candidate and it wasn't the Anti-Federalist Party Left candidate either.

Personally, I don't consider plans to make the executive branch of government into some mystical, magical "protection of marriage bureau" to be small government friendly. However, theocrats and homophobic bigots do, but then they don't really care about responsible, limited government. Their trip is, and always has been, controlling the actions of others and forcing their "morals" on everyone else via government force. To Hell with that mean old Constitution thingy that's always getting in the way of our theocracy in the making.

Nor do I see plans to expand this World Policeman schtick into Iran and Syria to be a shining example of fiscal restraint and principled leadership. Or plans to be the national drugstore for seniors or plans to give everyone a national psyche exam to fit the bill either. That kinda, sorta seems like the opposite of smaller government and stuff.

Is this guy, with his Divine Endorsement, now going to start slashing and burning the bloated behemoth that is our national bureaucracy or will he continue to succumb to his party's obsessive embrace of Anti-Federalism and social engineering? If he actually does start the deconstruction process, he'd be the first national executive in history to do so. President Divine Endorsement has no more elections to worry about and his party controls all three branches of government.

Excuse time is over for my conservative friends. Prove me wrong folks. You can start by dismantling some of the bloated and unnecessary, un-Constitutional agencies and offices of the big government you helped grow even larger during the first term. The good folks at Cato, Future of Freedom Foundation and the Independent Institute have some excellent ideas about where you can begin.

Talk is cheap.
