You've probably noticed that my blogging has been light over the last week. Last Friday, I had minor surgery to correct a condition I've dealt with for about five or so years. Specifically, the surgery was a retroperitoneal varicocelectomy, performed under general anesthesia. This is probably an overshare, but that's your fault for tuning in to this channel. This surgery, if the results are successful, should correct a persist, painful circulatory (and fertility) problem I've been experiencing for several years (which worsened significantly this year). The after effects of anesthesia and the actual surgery have left me with a manageable amount of pain and discomfort that has been handled with a combination of ibuprofen, percocet and sleep.
I returned to work on Wednesday on a reduced schedule. Sitting in a chair for an extended period is still a bit of a chore due to the nature of the surgery, but my boss and co-workers have been patient and accomodating. Walking and driving (to a lesser degree) are fine, so long as its slow and steady.
However, due to the location of the incision, I won't be using my exercise bike or running in the Metro for a train anytime soon. This sucks, but the hard part is over and I shouldn't have anymore pain associated with the condition. Further, my wife and I are looking forward to creating more heirs in the next year or two.
Blogging should resume to normal pace soon. In the meantime, I've added a ton of advocacy letters and uploaded several papers I've recently written for coursework at the American Military University.
Get well soon!!
Hope you’re feeling better soon.
When you get a chance, could you tell me how to find out if my parent’s marriage was legal in Pennsylvania? One of them was probably 1/4 African. Just curious.
I wonder who I could date if I went to Bob Jones University? Assuming I wasn’t married, and assuming I would have ever gone there in the first place….
