Jim Abrams of the Associated Press on House votes to protect 'under God' in Pledge
The House, in an emotionally and politically charged debate six weeks before the election, voted Thursday to protect the words "under God" in the Pledge of Allegiance from further court challenges.
I can't seem to find where in the Constitution that Congress is granted the authority to "protect" state sponsored utterances of religious belief in loyalty oaths written by socialists. But then, protecting and promoting their particular brand of socialism is what these so-called conservatives do these days.
Call me crazy, but I think with American men and women dying daily overseas, these big government "conservatives" would find something other than promotion of theocracy to occupy their time.
