As you know, House Budget Committee Chairman Nussle has succeeded in passing a fiscally responsible budget for FY05, together with a strong budget enforcement measure, out of the Budget Committee.
As drafted by Chairman Nussle, the budget enforcement legislation will impose pay/go rules for entitlement spending, and it imposes five-year discretionary spending caps.
The budget itself, together with the enforcement mechanism, can finally get spending under control again. Chairman Nussle’s budget will cut the deficit in half over the next five years, without tolerating growth-killing tax increases.
Overall spending has been spiraling toward the sky for too long. Now Congress needs to turn to spending with the same vigor it has applied to tax relief for every American.
Please support House Budget Chairman Jim Nussle’s budget and its enforcement mechanism!
Sincerely,
James Landrith
