Logged in. Ugly. Ugly. Ugly.

My email is finally back up. I was able to login. All gone – folders and everything, except a few emails from today.

I hope this is temporary and that they are still rebuilding.

Fortunately, most of the emails from a week ago and earlier on the server were also on my hard drive. I may have lost 5 days or so since I last synced Outlook Express. Some of the email from the last five days is also on my Treo (in SnapperMail) from my last synch. I can resend that to myself and it will be on the server again. My loss will be minimal compared to most. But that is by my own design and not to Your-site’s credit.

Still, daddy ain’t happy. I could have been one of the folks who didn’t archive on their harddrives. Had that been the case, I’d have lost more than five days worth of emails. I’d have lost thousands of messages. I publish two website publications that generate a lot of email from media contacts, fellow civil libertarians, readers and university students and professors as a result of these publications being part of the coursework in sociology, political science and other subjects at several universities worldwide. Had that all been lost, the “its only five dollars a month” mantra would have driven me over the edge. (Cue scary music and weird lighting….)

Grrrrr. Grrrrr. Grrrrr. Grrrrr.
