In what may be the first subpoena of its kind in decades, a federal judge has ordered a university to turn over records about a gathering of anti-war activists.
In addition to the subpoena of Drake University, subpoenas were served this past week on four of the activists who attended a Nov. 15 forum at the school, ordering them to appear before a grand jury Tuesday, the protesters said.
This is the PATRIOT Act in action folks. What happened to the "if you've done nothing wrong, you have nothing to worry about" mantra of the trade-a-little-liberty-for-security crowd? I'll tell you – that was never the case. PATRIOT Act = mad power grab = shredding of the Bill of Rights. It seems us civil libertarians aren't the shifty-eyed, paranoid types that the big government Republican whores who supported this trash claimed we were.
Exactly how does picking on grandmothers, Catholic peace protesters and Quakers protect us from terrorists?
It doesn't.
