More Liberation

Terrance Heath has link to a disturbing clip from CNN of Marines killing a wounded Iraqi and then cheering. Terrance had this to say:

To kill is one thing, to kill in self defense is another. But to take joy in that killing, to cheer another person's death is – to me – sad. One no longer sees the other person as human, but as a thing to be eliminated.

I'm with Terrance on this one. The Administration, conservatives and some pro-war libertarians have falsely sold this war as one of liberation and justice (after the tons and tons of weapons of mass destruction vanished into thin air). Exactly how much justice and liberation did you hear in the cheering and joy in that man's death?

And for the chickenhawk brigade who occasionally troll by to leave a snide posting – remember this: I wore that uniform, you didn't. Serve first, then feel free to spit in my face. Don't come at me self-righteous and I won't embarrass you or call you a coward for not serving. Umm-kay?

  1. do we know the context of this action, the who what where when and why. are the comments related to the action shown, would like to know that the finish was necessary to the moment if not it is not how these men are trained. i took the scenic tour some time ago, would prefer more info before drawing the conclusion the clip wants you to arrive at, remember cnn has no honor, integrity or crediblity. 2. Dave, then please provide us with some sources that have “honor, integrity,” and “crediblity.”

By the way, it’s “credibility.” And no, Fox News doesn’t count.
