Feel my pain. As a result of the coming storm, I've had to reschedule linestanders for two major hearings on the Hill that were supposed to occur tomorrow. For both hearings, I had been able to secure prime spots in line, including the first and second slots for the most popular of the two hearings. There is a subtle art to getting to the front of the line for popular hearings.
There are two main companies that book linestanders in the DC area. My employer has an account with one of these companies, but not the other. In addition, there are tons of freelancers, most of them being couriers. Its easy to gauge where you are in the coming line by checking with the company you've booked through. This will tell you where their linestanders are, but not anyone else's. The rest is a guessing game. What time do I think the other company will be sending folks to stand? What about the freelancers?
Oh well, now I'm back to playing the educated guessing game in a righteous battle to beat the mad mob.
Damn it, damn it, damn it.
