The head of the NAACP and Mayor James Hahn joined activists Tuesday in condemning the Racial Privacy Act, arguing that the ballot measure would hurt minorities and victims of discrimination.
Proposition 54 would bar people from filing discrimination complaints based on race and ethnicity, contended Julian Bond, chairman of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People.
