Civil rights leader Jesse Jackson urged voters Sunday to reject a measure that would prevent state agencies from collecting data or statistics based on race.
“California should not sub-stitute information with ignorance,” Jackson said during a fund raiser in the Oakland hills, sponsored by a committee working to defeat Prop. 54.
Other critics of the measure rallied last week on the steps of San Francisco City Hall, where Mayor Willie Brown spoke against the initiative.
This is completely unbalanced. How this qualifies as journalism is beyond me. It is more appropriately labeled as blatant PR for the opposition. 90% of the story focuses on the arguments of the opponents of Prop. 54 with only one line granted to Connerly (the only quote in favor of the proposition).
