Terror, Terror and More Terror (Plus Some Terror)

Jacob G. Hornberger of the Future of Freedom Foundation on Terrorism D‚j… Vu in Saudi Arabia:

…now, it’s terrorism deja vu all over again. President Bush has declared victory in his war on Iraq and, amidst tremendous military fanfare, claims that the war is over. He is wrong. The war is just continuing, with more terrorist attacks in response to the U.S. government’s interventionist foreign policy, including its recent invasion and occupation of Iraq, just as CIA officials and other people predicted would happen if the U.S. government invaded and occupied Iraq.

But just as they did after the September 11 terrorist attacks, U.S. officials are now expounding the same predictable line — that the terrorist attacks in Saudi Arabia have absolutely nothing to do with the U.S. government’s interventionist foreign policy, its 12-year war against Iraq, or even its recent invasion and occupation of Iraq.

True dat. Al Quaeda didn't happen overnight. It's not like a bunch of folks just woke up one morning and on a whim just decided to dedicate their lives to killing Americans and blowing shit up.

  1. Very good point. My hopes were that if anything good could come out of 9/11 it would be for the US to rethink its foriegn policies and pull out of everywhere but Japan since we are present there to protect them.

We could save alot of tax money and protect ourselves at home MUCH better if we pulled out of all foriegn countries and focused on defense instead of the interventionist tactics we have employed since WWII.
