Tim Sullivan of the The Salt Lake Tribune on USA Patriot Act Faces Opposition
Two dozen curious citizens received a lesson on the USA Patriot Act on Saturday at the South Valley Unitarian Universalist Society — as well as some strong opinions about its consequences.
"If you print out the U.S. Constitution, it's two pages," said Aaron Turpen, one of the event's organizers. "It took the government 131 pages to screw it up. . . . And we're the ones who are letting it be torn up."
The PATRIOT Act isn't the only thing that should be facing opposition. Any worthless sack of meat who voted for the bill should get a pinkslip.
