The Administration wants it both ways:
Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld said on Sunday Iraqi television footage claiming to show American prisoners of war was a violation of the Geneva Convention.
This statement made by Rumsfeld came after months of U.S. talk of using torture on captured Taliban and Al Qaeda fighters. Let's see if I have this straight: the U.S. should get to violate the Geneva Convention prohibitions on torture and treatment of POWs, but Iraq should be expected to adhere to the same treaty that the U.S. publicly plans to violate. I guess when you're building an empire 'you got it like that.'
