From today's Cato Daily Dispatch:
U.S. Investigating Military Occupation Oil Rights in IraqThe Wall Street Journal reports that, "If U.S. forces find themselves in control of Iraq, international law would give them a large degree of leeway in managing the country's oil fields." In "It's Not About Oil?" Cato Senior Defense Policy Analyst Charles Pena writes, "Even if going to war against Iraq is not completely about oil (weapons of mass destruction are much scarier), it's impossible to ignore and even more foolish to think it's not an important factor."
Charles Pena is by no stretch of the imagination anything resembling a liberal, so the "don't talk about oil cuz you'll discredit the liberal cause" nonsense that has been bandied about in the past will be unnecessary. Like the last time I posted about oil.
There, you may now commence with the flame-war.
