Two cops in Houston have been indicted in connection with the mass arrest scheme concocted in order to "fight" drag racing. The article mentioned this little tidbit:
Acting Police Chief Tim Oettmeier told Houston City Council in September that any future operations on the scale of the controversial Kmart raid will have to be approved by the police chief in writing.
Is that really the solution Tim? Your jackboots arrested folks sitting in their cars doing nothing, people eating at Sonic Drive In and individuals shopping at K-Mart. Instead of worrying about who approved or did not approve the raid, try telling your little brain surgeons in blue not to arrest people without legitimate cause.
It's just that simple.
