CBC News reports on the Confusion over fate of Canadian man deported from U.S.
Ottawa engineer Maher Arar was arrested by U.S. immigration officials in September while he was changing planes on his way home from a vacation.
Without telling Canadian officials, the U.S. deported Arar to Syria, where he's also a citizen.
Your government at work, deporting Canadian citizens to Syria for the crime of holding Canadian and Syrian citizenship. If the U.S. government had even the slightest amount of proof that he was a terrorist, like they claim, the last thing they'd have done was deport him. He'd be in U.S. custody right now, being questioned and questioned and questioned some more. Of course, we're not supposed to think about such things. We're supposed to believe the lie and nod our heads like the good little neocons Jonah Goldberg would have us be.
The folks involved in this travesty ought to be working the window at Hardee's. "Thank you, please drive around."
