For a couple of years now, I've been receiving mailings from classical pianist/composer Tim Janis. I'm not quite sure how I managed to get on this mailing list. It's not a big deal or anything, but I just find it interesting, since the mailings seemed to be meant for fans, rather than the general public. Several months ago I received the last mailing with an email signup form from Janis stating that his future updates would come via email with the launch of his new website. Junk mail is junk mail, but this seemed like something that I either signed up for or someone else signed me up for. Since I don't own any Janis CD's and I've never seen him perform, clearly someone else signed me up. Who and why? And why didn't his people use bulk mail instead of first class anyway? At 3:45 am it doesn't have to make sense, it just is.
