Thank you for writing this excellent article! I am “interracially” married and live in Northern Virginia in the “dreadful” suburbs. I wouldn’t change a thing. Our neighborhood is extremely diverse and other “interracial” couples are visible all over the area. Only when I go to the District do I encounter comments and anger from “black” and “white” folks over my choice of spouse. It’s far past time for people to deal in realities and abandon mindless anti-suburbanite posturing that only glosses over problems and perpetuates racist stereotypes. Thank you for your article.
