PEKIN – Jacob B. “Ben” Landrith, 82, of 1014 S. Third St. died at 9:35 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 24, 1991, at Pekin Hospital.
Born Jan. 2, 1909, in Springlake Township, Tazewell County, to Thomas and Minnie Mae Earhart Landrith, he married Goldie E. Nelson on Feb. 16, 1930, in Pekin. She died Jan. 6, 1978. One daughter, five brothers, two sisters and two grandchildren also preceded him in death. Surviving are two sons, Donald E. and Bennie R., two daughters, Marcell Martin and Mrs. Elton (Martha) Martin, and one sister, Mrs.Jules (Virginia) Riviere, all of Pekin; 16 grandchildren; and 18 great- grandchildren.He served in the National Guard in Delavan from 1927-29. A truck driver at Fredman Brothers Furniture, he was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Pekin and Teamsters Local 627 of Peoria.Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin Chapel, the Rev. Charles W. Sensel officiating. Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery.Memorials may be made to his church.
