Libertarian U.S. Senate candidate Rick Stanley says he's not a racist for forwarding an admittedly offensive poem during an online discussion about immigration.
"This allegation is absolutely a lie," he said Tuesday. "I don't just forward all the nice things. We forward all kinds of tough things, and then we discuss them."
He could have made his points about immigration and welfare quite easily without forwarding that ridiculous poem reprinted in the article. There is no real explanation for it, nor did it add anything to the issue. It was offensive for the sake of being offensive. This loose cannon is an embarrassment and is hurting the party. Let's hope his nomination is a one-time thing.
